Be sure to Mark your Calendar for May for the 3rd annual Beach Music Day of North Carolina, to be held in Raleigh…. If you went last year you know how GREAT it was. IF you didn’t go you should have! So Market that Calendar and look for the local advertisements…. State House Grounds 12-3…. Later there will be a free party at the downtown Sheraton. COME ON DOWN!

House Bill 3636 “The Drifters Bill” has passed the house and was signed at Beach Music Day by the governor. That means you the consumer will no longer be faked out by the great pretender groups... you know the ones who take on the names of legendary groups but are really only legends in their own mind. This bill was pushed by the BMAI and endorsed by the RIAA who hopes to take it to the other 49 state for passage. A quick update!!! Several other NORTHERN States are sending representatives to SC to discuss the bill as they make plans to introduce a similar action in their states.

Harry Turner, Billy Scott have been up North testifying about the bill and they have been out West and down further South and it looks like the model that SC started with the assistance of BMAI will be adopted in at least 5 or 6 more state!

INVITATIONS TO THE DOO WOP HALL OF FAME EVENTS, STATE LEGISLATURES OUT SIDE THE CAROLINAS AND NOW THE EFFORT TO EXPAND BEACH MUSIC DAY TO OTHER STATES…. PERHAPS NORTH (Virginia?)
